â¹ûÖ±²¥ welcomes $140 million announcement to support people with diabetes 12 July 2021 â¹ûÖ±²¥ today welcomed the announcement of the new three-year $140 million agreement from 1 July 2021 to support â¹ûÖ±²¥â€™s continued provision of services and support to people with diabetes through the National Diabetes Services Scheme (NDSS). Federal Health Minister Greg Hunt made the announcement at the start of National Diabetes Week, ensuring 1.4 million Australians living with diabetes and registered with the NDSS will continue to be able to access essential information and self-management support and services through the Scheme. â¹ûÖ±²¥ thanks the Australian Government and Minister Hunt for this important funding announcement which means we can continue to support people to live well with their diabetes. All Australians with any type of diabetes are eligible to register with the NDSS to access information, services and support programs, and subsidised diabetes products. The new funding agreement includes funding for KeepSight – Australia’s diabetes eye check reminder program; the Diabetes in Schools program; and the recently launched FootForward program which is helping people reduce the risk of diabetes-related foot problems and amputations.
