Unite for Allison in the fight for hope 14 November 2022 The one question Sharon couldn鈥檛 answer when her daughter Allison, now 10, was diagnosed four years ago with type 1 diabetes was, 鈥淢um, when am I going to get over this?鈥� Allison now knows that part of her body doesn鈥檛 work but can鈥檛 grasp the concept yet that there could be a cure. The hardest part for Sharon and her husband was when they bought Allison home from hospital after the initial diagnosis. 鈥淚f we mess up, it will affect her future,鈥� was the thought that haunted them. Today, Allison loves school, swimming, calisthenics, basketball and playing the guitar. Sharon describes her as a Superstar.
